Welcome to Eddie Bauer Benefits!

When you are newly hired or become benefits-eligible, you will receive an email from the Benefits Team informing you of your enrollment action steps and the deadline to complete your online enrollment. If you do not have a company-issued email address, the email will be sent to your personal email address on file. The only other time you will be able to add, change, or drop coverage is at Open Enrollment time each Spring, unless you have a Qualifying Life Event.

Important Notes about Mandatory Coverage

  • All benefited associates are required to enrol in Health and Dental plans unless you:
    • Have coverage elsewhere (other than provincial coverage), and
    • Provide proof of that alternative coverage when you first qualify for coverage at Eddie Bauer
  • Even if you elect to waive the plan due to coverage elsewhere, you are still required to complete the online enrolment process in UltiPro, which includes Decline Waivers.
  • If you do not complete your online enrolment (and/or proof of other coverage) by your deadline:
    • You will be defaulted to Associate-Only coverage on the Health and Dental plans with corresponding payroll deductions.
    • If you’ve requested dependent coverage and you don’t complete your online enrolment, your dependent enrolment will not automatically be accepted by Manulife and you may be subject to medical review and approval. Dependents will also be subject to limited Dental Plan benefits.
  • Once you are enroled in the plan, we will collect premiums on the next pay, retroactive to the date on which coverage began.
  • You will automatically receive company-paid coverage under the Basic Associate Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) plans — as well as disability coverage, if eligible. You can also apply for additional life insurance coverage under the optional life insurance plan.



These associates are eligible for healthcare benefits (including medical, prescription drugs, dental, and vision), life insurance, Time Off, and the Eddie Bauer Retirement Savings Plan:

  • Associates hired or promoted into a full time store management or lead position expected to work a minimum of of 30 hours per week.
  • Associates hired into a part-time position who average 30 or more hours per week (measured annually each April).

All associates are eligible for vacation benefits. Part-time limited associates accrue vacation based on provincial requirements.


Eligible dependents include your:

  • Legal spouse or common-law spouse who is an individual of either sex with whom you have been cohabiting for a period of a least 12 months and whom you publicly represent as a spouse
  • Dependent children up to age 19 or age 23 if full-time student
  • Dependent children who are totally and permanently disabled

Enrolment Action Steps

  • Explore The Collective for full plan details and premium rates.
  • Complete online enrolment in UltiPro no later than your personalized enrolment deadline sent in your introduction email/letter.
  • Complete beneficiary information in UltiPro. Because Eddie Bauer provides you with company-paid life insurance, it is important that you designate your beneficiary or beneficiaries when you enrol in UltiPro. Even if you opt out of health and/or dental coverage, you will be required to complete this in UltiPro during enrolment. If you do not designate a beneficiary, any plan benefits will be paid to your estate.
  • British Columbia Management Only:
    • In addition to the UltiPro Enrolment process, please also review and complete the Medical Services Plan (MSP) Application.
    • After returning your MSP Application to the Benefits Team, contact MSP directly at 1-800-663-1700 to confirm if your application has been received and if any additional information is required for enrolment.

When coverage is effective

Coverage will go into effect on the first of the month following 30 days of employment/eligibility, with the exception of Short-term and Long-term disability, which takes effect after 180 days of employment/eligibility for Full-Time Management.

ID Cards

Once your UltiPro enrolment is received and your information is entered into Manulife’s system, one ID card will be sent to your home address for all extended health and dental. You should receive your ID card within two weeks of enrolment. If you don’t receive your ID card, contact the Benefits Team. The card allows your pharmacist to bill the plan directly for eligible prescription drug expenses.

Making Changes to Your Benefits Elections

Review your options carefully. Once you enroll, the only time you can change, add, or cancel your benefit elections is if you have a change in family status and notify the Benefits Team within 30 days of the event. Changes must be consistent with the qualifying event. Family status changes include:

  • Marriage
  • Divorce or legal separation
  • Addition of a dependent through birth or adoption
  • Death of a spouse, child, or covered dependent
  • Change in your or your spouse’s employment status, including the gain or loss of benefit eligibility
  • Dependent no longer meets the definition of an eligible dependent
